"A tree needs to grow into the sky and into the ground at the same time."I forget where I saw this quote recently but it couldn't be more true with #confidenceWe tend to focus on our "into the sky" stuff, our visible aspects, our looks, our achievements, our jobs, our...We don't spend much time growing further under the surface. We don't focus on building resilience, resourcefulness, trust/belief/love for ourselves, we don't build self-esteem - we might put on airs overground. We might put some pretend confidence onto our surface, hoping it will translate into roots, when it doesn't.And then what happens when someone or something tries to knock us over if we don't have roots?Love a good tree analogy

I love coaching people. It's been pure joy of week one with MOE Foundation on my coaching training.Within that space I already facilitated 7 coaching conversations, and many more booked/to be scheduled for this and coming weeks.I absolutely love being a coach, to give people that space for their thoughts, ideas, goals and ambitions. It's beautiful to see vague things become concrete, scary things to become less scary, or overwhelming things to become doable.Coaching is magical.Curious about a session? Let me know.Of course this is connected closely to HopStair® and all the confidence building work we do there. But no, you don't have to have a "confidence question" to join me on a session.#coaching #magic

Young people spend 2/3 less time compared to previous generations on face to face contact. Most "social" contact now happens online. Yes, we now have the internet, social media - other ways to stay in touch and connect with people. What's the downside?F2F contact is vastly superior to online contact. Why?- you don't just stay in your bubble - before, we'd have (wider) family, community elders, others in your daily lives, teachers, employers etc all around us. We'd have to navigate a complex web of fascinating (and often difficult) human relationships and personalities - but it's character building- this way, you learn to become OK with adversity - not just being liked and admired or able to block whoever isn't agreeing with you- connection - there is no replacement for real world connection and taking in the whole of human-ness, not just words and facial expressions, but other non verbal cues, hugs, touch (if so desired), other forms of energy that are hard to gauge onlineNeedless to stay, in starts and builds in the early years of a child. Parental care and presence is extremely important to raise a well adjusted, emotionally intelligent and confident human.

"AI generated content is perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards and lacks representation; even when women and girls know theimages, they see are fake or AI-generated, still 1 in 3 feel pressure to alter their appearance when exposed to these visualrepresentations."Don't we all love to speed certain things up with AI? Sure. But let's all please be acutely aware of the ginormous price we are paying and the cost we inflict on the world by, amongst others, AI generated images. The quantity and speed to generate AI altered images to alter one's appearance is only going to get worse. Not just is it extremely dangerous to the people who do that to their own images, it has catastrophic implications on people who see these images.Lack of confidence (which includes poor body image) is one of the biggest epidemics we currently experience and we are doing little to nothing about. Many more players like DOVE, Inc. need to come together to tackle this.

I am looking for volunteers to receive some free brief 15-30min coaching from me (ideally between now and Friday) - I am looking for 2-3 people.I am doing a fantastic coach training course with MOE Foundation and this is part of my training. Please connect :)What to expect?- You can be clear or entirely unclear about what you'd like to talk about.- It should be something that's important to you, maybe a change in your life, a feeling you have been wrestling with, a goal you have.- The goal is for me to help you illicit your own answers - I won't give advice, but I will prompt you in a way that hopefully enables you to gain a deeper understanding about the next steps you can take.Interested? Please DM.

Confidence isn't the absence of fear, it's the willingness to act in spite of it.And so many other nuggets.Confidence is so much more than most people think!!

Personal post. For about a year I experienced extremely difficult mornings every morning - I found myself waking up (no other immediate stimuli) in a state of depression. It would always dissipate after 1-2h or so but it was really hard to live with and to get going.I noticed recently how this has left me pretty much entirely. Like a physical injury that finally healed. What is the point of this post?Listen to your body and mind. It is always right. It will always give you all the clues you need. But you need to listen and you need to act.Needless to say there have been some extremely tough things in my recent past and I took the time and made the necessary changes to move past them, and the result is right here.Listen to your body and mind, tune in, and you will thank yourself later.
