HOUSTON (KIAH)— A night of powerful storms has left significant damage and a trail of injuries in southeast Texas, including Trinity County.
The rest of southeast Texas has also been dealing with heavy rains, lots of flooding and some water rescues.

In Trinity County, high winds uprooted trees, many of those uprooted trees landing on vehicles. One subdivision suffered heavy damage with at least one home being leveled to the ground.
Besides toppling trees, high winds overturned vehicles, scattered debris and streets were flooded.
Meanwhile, Harmon Creek in Huntsville off Highway 19 is out of its banks. Homes near the creek are surrounded by floodwaters forcing people from their homes.
One resident who lives near the creek says he’s lived there for 27 years and has never seen it like this before.
With weather conditions worsening in some areas and damage being assessed in others, schools in our area are delaying their start on Monday morning.
Trinity ISD and Groveton ISD have closed their schools for the day. Shepherd ISD will be on a one-hour delay due to weather, along with East Chambers ISD. Texas City ISD will have a two-hour delay to schools starting due to street flooding.
Other schools are expected to follow.
